A Tough Plant for Sunny Landscapes

Adagio Maiden Grass is a compact ornamental grass that works very well in North Texas landscapes for texture, movement, and low maintenance planting beds.

Best Area to Plant

Key Features:

  • Location: Rock gardens, small garden borders, or massed as a soft groundcover.

  • Placement: Excellent for edging pathways or filling in small gaps between larger shrubs. Because of its compact size, it is a top choice for container gardens or “spiller” effects in raised beds

Slow Growth rate and pairs well with Salvia and other Texas Native Perennials.

Care Instructions

  • Light:

Full sun to very light part shade.

  • Water:

Moderate water needs; it is relatively drought-tolerant once established but prefers consistent moisture to keep the foliage lush.

  • Soil:

    Good drainage and high PH

  • Pruning:

Cut back to about 2–3 inches in late winter (late February) before new green blades emerge. It is generally a well-behaved clumping grass and not invasive.
