Tough little white daisies that love the heat

Black Foot Daisy is a Texas native made for our hot, dry summers and poor, rocky soil. Small white daisies with yellow centers cover the plant from spring into fall, and the neat silver-green mound stays tidy all season.

It is one of the best choices for tight spots, borders and rock beds where other flowers struggle with heat and limited watering.

Best Area to Plant

Location:

  • Front of sunny flower beds
  • Along walkways and driveway edges
  • Rock gardens and gravel beds
  • Between larger shrubs as a low filler

Placement:

Plant in full sun, about 12 to 18 inches apart. It needs fast drainage, so use raised beds or mix in gravel in heavy clay. Keep it away from spots that stay wet and from heavy mulch piled against the crown.

Care Instructions

  • Light:

Requires full sun. It will get leggy and bloom less in shade.

  • Water:

Needs light watering while it gets established. Once settled in, it is very drought tolerant and does best on very little water, especially in the summer.

  • Maintenance:

Very low maintenance. Shear lightly in late winter or after a heavy flush of bloom to keep it compact. Avoid fertilizer and overwatering.
