Red Yucca
Hesperaloe Parviflora
Growth Potential
Foliage reaches 2-3 feet tall and wide. Flower stalks can shoot up to 5 feet.
A Tough Plant for Sunny Landscapes
The Red Yucca is a tough, drought-tolerant succulent that adds long- lasting color to sunny landscapes. Its arching, grass-like foliage is topped by tall spikes of coral-red flowers that are a magnet for hummingbirds. It’s an excellent choice for rock gardens, borders, or as an accent plant.
Best Area to Plant
The "Reflection" Zone:
Because it is incredibly heat-hardy, this is the best plant for curb strips (hell strips) between the sidewalk and the street, or in narrow beds against a brick wall that radiates heat.
Poolside Accents:
Unlike many desert plants, Red Yucca has no thorns or “teeth.” The foliage is smooth and flexible, making it safe to plant right next to high-traffic areas, pool decks, or walkways where people might brush against it.
Modern & Minimalist Beds:
Its clean, architectural lines make it perfect for modern landscape designs. It looks best when surrounded by decomposed granite or river rock rather than traditional wood mulch.
