Homestead Hot Pink Verbena is a low growing, spreading perennial known for its vivid hot pink blooms that blanket the plant from spring through frost. This tough Texas performer creates a carpet of color and attracts butterflies and pollinators. Its trailing habit makes it ideal for softening edges, spilling over stone borders, or filling wide open sunny spaces with vibrant groundcover color.

Best Area to Plant

Location:

  • The “Tricky” Shade Spot: This is the absolute best choice for those areas where most flowering plants fail—specifically under the deep canopy of large Live Oaks or Pecan trees.

  • North-Facing Walls: It thrives against the north side of a two-story home where it receives mostly shade but still produces bright red pops of color.

  • Pollinator “Rest Stops”: Plant this near a window or patio where you can watch wildlife; it is one of the most consistent hummingbird magnets in Texas.

  • Woodland Edges: Because it can get somewhat large and “leggy” (informal), it looks best at the back of a shade garden or along a fence line rather than as a formal, clipped hedge.

  • Wildlife: Excellent nectar source for hummingbirds; produces edible red fruit that birds adore.
